Benefits of Warming Lube and Cooling Lube

When it comes to exploring intimacy, trying different lubes can be a real game-changer. We already know that lube reduces friction and increases pleasure, but beyond that, some lubricants offer special sensations like warming or cooling, which can bring an entirely new level of pleasure and playfulness to your experience. Whether you’re looking to explore new feels or you  just want to change things up a bit, here are a few of my favorite reasons to explore sensation play –

1. Heightened Sensation (of course!)

A warming or cooling lube can enhance sensitivity, making everything feel more intense. The added sensation can amplify your experience and make even familiar activities feel new and different. A water based sensation lube like Aqua Heat or Aqua Chill, is a great place to start. Try small amounts first- you can always add more! aqua heat warming lube

2. Playful Temperature Play

Temperature play is a great way to explore your partner’s body. Using a warming or cooling lube lets you experiment with heat or chill in a controlled and pleasurable way, and- pro tip- you can also mix the sensations by storing Aqua or Ultra Heat in the refrigerator (NOT the freezer!) and experience waves of different sensations as the lube goes on cool, then slowly warms. You can also take a metal or glass toy and warm it under warm water (do not boil them!) And use Aqua or Ultra Chill for a different juxtaposition of sensation.

3. Increased Blood Flow

Warming lubes, in particular, can increase blood flow to the area of application, which can lead to a more responsive and aroused feeling. This can be especially helpful for enhancing pleasure during solo play or with a partner. Toy Love Heat and Toy Love Chill are GREAT for solo play on masturbators and strokers or even on clit vibes. Once that blood flow gets going and everything is engorged and aroused, orgasm is more likely to happen.

These lubes can add an extra layer of fun to your foreplay. Cooling lubes can create tingling sensations that surprise and delight, while warming lubes can help build anticipation as things heat up (literally and figuratively). Incorporate other senses as well- use a blindfold on your partner to heighten sensations, and experiment with different textures of toys and tools at the same time.

5. Opposites Attract

If you’re looking to really shake things up, use one sensation while your partner uses the other for some mind blowing sensations! Variety really is the key in keeping intimacy exciting, and adding a little temperature play can be a great way to open the door to other sensation play and introduce new playtime possibilities.
