sensual gratitude with jessica drake
As we slide right into sweater weather and come closer to Thanksgiving, we see so much in the media about gratitude- journals and #30DaysOfGratitude hashtags on cheery IG posts. I don’t know about you, but entries in my Gratitude App (yes, it’s a thing!) were pretty few and far between there for a while. Lately my approach has shifted, and it’s something I’d love to share with you.
I’m tuning in to being more mindful and in turn, more “in my body”. This translates to moments of gratitude for and acknowledgment of parts of my body. My beating heart. My breath. My fingers that feel things. My mouth tastes so many flavors. All my nerve endings are capable of experiencing pleasure. I’m grateful for gaining sexual health and wellness knowledge free of shame and judgement, allowing me to be more comfortable in my skin.
When I am practicing gratitude for my sensuality and my body, I use Wicked Sensual Care products that engage my senses. You can try these solo or with a partner.
- Creme is an amazing stroking and massage cream to rub all over. Thank your skin for holding it all together as you caress every inch of your body, rewarding it with an unparalleled softness and smoothness. Take it to the next level by adding a few drops of your favorite essential oil for your ideal blend.
- Awaken is a clitoral massage gel that gives gradual waves of warmth and cooling. When I use it, I am grateful for all of those nerve endings solely designed for my pleasure. Awaken can also be used between the outer and inner labia- that’s where the “legs” or crura of the clit are- and it can gently stimulate the erectile tissue there, increasing blood flow and arousal.
- If you’re bringing a lover into your practice of body gratitude, try any of our flavored lubes– Candy Apple, Vanilla Bean, and Cinnamon Bun are all great Fall flavors to use for oral sex. I love making out with them on my lips. Sweetened with Stevia, they’ll increase saliva production, plus they’re safe to use vaginally and anally.
Sensual moments of gratitude for our bodies and all they do for us can reduce stress, create more of those happy chemicals in our brains, and bring us back into the present moment, and that is something I’m thankful for.
with love & gratitude,
jd
